The Bluffs Food Bank is excited to announce an exciting partnership with The Birchcliff Coffee Bar starting today. Every time a Sugar Cookie Latte is purchased, The Birchcliff Coffee Bar will provide a meal for a hungry neighbour through The Bluffs Food Bank.
“This community has been so good to us,” Olivia Peters, proprietor at The Birchcliff says. “We really wanted to partner with an organization that takes care of our neighbours who find themselves in need of some help. The Bluffs Food Bank has a long history of being a well-run, professional charity that has been working to end hunger in our community.”
“We’re so pleased to be partnering with them.”
Each week, The Bluffs Food Bank serves over 300 clients representing as many as 1,200 people. Clients are provided with a three or four day supply of healthy and nutritious groceries including toiletries and food for their pets.
“We’re so thankful for the generosity of our neighbours,” Mathieu Yuill, a board member with The Bluffs Food Bank says. “When Olivia suggested this partnership we knew it was a perfect fit. The Birchcliff Coffee Bar is a community hub, it’s welcoming and inviting, it shares all the same values of community as the food bank.”
The Birchcliff Coffee Bar opened in 2015 and serves local artisan pastries and coffee based beverages. It quickly became a local favourite and has been positively reviewed in many Toronto publications.
The Bluffs Food Bank was founded in 2003 with the aim of ending hunger in The Bluffs. Operating entirely with the grace of its volunteers, The Bluffs Food Bank provides over 30,000 meals through its grocery program and meal program and completes over 500 income tax returns for its clients each year.
