The Bluffs Food Bank received a surprise gift today from Scarborough Money Mart employees! Representatives from the Scarborough Money Mart locations visited the food bank today and brought a cheque for $1,000.
“At this time of year, monetary donations go even further,” Bluffs Food Bank president, Gail Barkic says. “The months of January through March are typically lean from a food donation perspective. Monetary donations allow us to buy food and ensure food bank clients are able to receive three or four days of supplemental groceries.”
“We’re a 100% volunteer run organization,” Barkic continues. “Donations are truly the lifeblood of the food bank.”
